The Board of Education will consider and may take action on a written request from Chavez/Huerta K-12 Preparatory Academy (CHPA) to permit CHPA to submit a charter application to the Charter School Institute while retaining and reserving the District’s exclusive chartering authority under C.R.S.§ 22-30.5-505(8).

Recommendation:
|
The Board of Education either approves, subject to conditions established by the Board and approved as to form by the District’s legal counsel, or denies CHPA’s request to be permitted to submit a charter application to the Charter School Institute; provided, however, that if the Board permits CHPA to submit a charter application, Pueblo School District No. 60 expressly retains and reserves its exclusive chartering authority under C.R.S. § 22-30.5-505(8) as presented in the April 28, 2025 Board materials.
