On October 13, 2022, school director and board president Dr. Margaret B. Wright submitted her written letter of resignation from the Board of Education and accepted by the Board. A vacancy occurs in the office of board president under the same conditions as a vacancy in the office of school director. It is necessary for the Board to elect a new president and any other officers due to the vacancy in the office created by Dr. Wright’s resignation. The Board need not wait until a person has been appointed to the vacancy to elect a new president and any other officers created by filling that position.

The Board of Education is asked to consider and potentially take action to elect a new president and, if necessary, a new vice-president due to the vacancy created by the acceptance of director and president Dr. Margaret Wright’s resignation from the Board as presented in the October 25, 2022 Board materials.
