Summary: The Board of Education is asked to approve the Cooperative Agreement for Concurrent Enrollment Programs Act between the State of Colorado, Department of Higher Education, by the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE), for the use and benefit of Pueblo Community College and Pueblo School District No 60.

The Colorado State Legislature passed House Bill 09-1319 and Senate Bill 09-285, the Concurrent Enrollment Programs Act. The collective intent is to broaden access to and improve the quality of concurrent enrollment programs, improve coordination between institutions of secondary education and institutions of higher education and ensure financial transparency and accountability.

The Act provides options for high school students to enroll in courses offered by the college. The college and the local education provider have decided to establish a Concurrent Enrollment Program pursuant to the Acts and therefore enter into this agreement.
