2022 Week of the Young Child Proclamation Whereas, the Pueblo School District No. 60 and other local organizations, in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, are celebrating April 4-9, 2022 as the Week of the Young Child; and Whereas, these organizations recognize the first years of a child’s life are the period of the most rapid brain development and lay the foundation for all future learning; and Whereas, are working to improve high quality early childhood education, including early literacy and mathematics, that can provide a strong foundation of learning for young children; and Whereas, early childhood teachers and others deserve to be valued, respected, and recognized for the important role they play in high quality early childhood education; and Whereas, public policies urge the support of children, families and our economy through the pandemic crisis, recovery, and beyond; and Now, Therefore, let it be known that the Pueblo School District No. 60 proclaims April 4-9, 2022 as the Week of the Young Child and encourages all citizens to support efforts that increase children and families’ access to high quality Early Childhood Education.
